PGS had a great time (as always) playing at Uncle Willy’s Saturday night. Thanks to all who came out!! Next up, this Sunday, 4/17, PGS will be making their debut at Sloop Brewing Co. in Elizaville. Music starts at 2pm. That’s right, it’s a daytime show so there’s no reason not to go. They have a great brewery/tasting room that’s located on the same grounds as Vosburgh Orchards.
If you’ve never been there…you’re unlikely to drive right past it in your travels. Get out your phone or GPS and use the address below. It’s about a 30 minute drive from Kingston, but well worth every minute once take your first sip of Red C, Juice Bomb, Sauer Peach, Black Razz or any of their other brews.
Hope to see you there!!

Thank you to everyone who came out to support the YWCA last night at their annual Tunes for Tots fundraising event. It was an honor for Payne’s Grey Sky to be asked to perform for the 7th straight year and we are looking forward to next year. In addition to PGS, there was also music provided by McGroovin and The Knuckleheads. Check them out when you have a chance, you’ll be glad you did. Also, we must thank Keegan Ales for opening up their space at the brewery to host an event like this. Without their support, an event like this would not be possible. Up next for Payne’s Grey Sky, we’ll be at Uncle Willy’s this coming Saturday, April 9th at 8pm. Hope to see you there!
Payne’s Grey Sky performing an original song titled These Very Same Questions. Written by Jimi Scheffel and performed at the Rosendale Cafe on January 22, 2013 as part of Singer/Songwriter Tuesday. This song was supposed to be on our debut CD, but due to time constraints, it ended up being the odd song out. Don’t worry though, we are starting to break it out again, will be playing it live and of course, record it on our next CD. This was recorded while we were just a 3 piece, with Jimi on guitar/vocals, Rich on bass and Dave on cajon. Hope you enjoy!
A year ago June, Payne’s Grey Sky released it’s debut self-titled CD. What an amazing experience this was. We worked with a super talented engineer, Dave Cook of Area 52 Studios in Saugerties, NY. He was very patient and supportive as we went through this process for our first time. If you’re in a band and looking to record, I highly recommend you check him out. The result of those 10 days of recording, spread over 11 months, between July 2014 and and May 2015 was that previously mentioned self titled CD. Please give us a listen the next time you are looking to play some music. You can find us on Spotify or YouTube to listen. If you like it, buy a song or two or three…maybe even the whole album. It’s available on iTunes, Amazon (mp3 or CD), from this website or at one of our shows. Our next show is this Saturday at Keegan Ales in support of the YWCA’s Tunes for Tots benefit. Great music for a great cause…hope to see you there!
On April 2nd, the YWCA will host their 7th annual Tunes for Tots benefit to help support the Magic Circle School’s music program. Payne’s Grey Sky is very excited to take part in our 7th Tunes for Tots show. That’s right!! We’ve been here since the beginning and are so appreciative to be asked to perform year after year. Joining us musically will be Mike O’Leary and the Knuckleheads. Come out and support a great cause!!
A small $5 suggested donation is requested, please feel free to donate more if you can. There will also be additional raffles and prizes.
Hope to see you there!
